More News: David (Spocko) vs Goliath (ABC)

Earlier today, I posted some news items that I thought were important. I wanted to reiterate one of them touch upon a new one. I wanted to reiterate the first story because I am inspired by it and I wanted to show some support.

1. There is an exciting David vs. Goliath scenario going in between a blogger named Spocko and ABC/Disney. Here are some informative sites on this topic:

Spocko Rocks ABC! Micky Mouse blinks! Updated: Spocko jumps in
Since this is Spocko's gig, I'm gonna pretty much use his words to explain what's gone down. Before the flip, to give you something to chew on as you click to the full story, I can tell you this much: you're gonna love what you read. Spocko has actually cost Disney money - he chased away advertisers and forced them to pay a law firm to intimidate his ISP. The story isn't all good though - Spocko's broke and can't afford to wage the legal battle, so he's shut down. That said, maybe we can use this space to buck up his spirits a little bit and see if there are any lawyers that want to file a Rule 11 motion against Disney's unscrupulous lawyers...
OH, IT’S ON!! BLOGSWARM NOW! SPOCKO’S ABOUT TO HIT BIG!
First, allow me to speak to the goals of this action. Primarily, we want to raise awareness of the hate that is broadcast over our airwaves every single day. To that end, it’s useful to highlight clips like this one, in which the KSFO host ponders, "the day will come when unpleasant things are going to happen to a bunch of stupid liberals. It’s going to be amusing to watch, [cohosts laughter] very amusing to watch." Or this one, in which Melanie Morgan, speaking of Nancy Pelosi, claims to have "a bull’s-eye painted on her big wide laughing eyes." It is our hope that by shining the disinfectant that is sunlight upon these advocators of violence, we will give Congress reason to take a closer look at what has happened to political discourse since the evisceration of the Fairness Doctrine.

A secondary goal is to begin a dialogue with the advertisers that may still be ignorant of the horrible things uttered by the hosts at KSFO. For instance, does it make sense for Match.com to pay for advertisements that run immediately after Melanie Morgan suggests that Rachel Carson, author of Silent Spring, should be dug up and so that she could be killed again? How romantic do you feel after that visualization? Does it make sense for Denny’s, a company with a, how shall we say... less than adequate race record to advertise on Brian Sussman’s show when he agrees with a caller that all mosques in Syria should be blown up by cruise missiles when they are most likely to be full of praying Muslims?

Another of our goals is to encourage corporate responsibility. Disney allows their subordinate companies to engage in this kind of hateful behavior because it is profitable to the Disney parent. As long as Brian Sussman makes KSFO money by demanding that a caller prove he’s not a Muslim by saying "Allah is a wh*re," Disney will not intervene. Of course Winnie the Pooh, The Little Mermaid, Mickey Mouse and Snow White’s hearts are broken, but no matter...
The Spocko Audio Files: Listening is believing
When advertisers actually listen to the hatred emanating from the mouths of these B level talking heads and pull their ads, what do they do? Threaten to sue the blogger who exposed them. Cowards—plain and simple. You're free to say what you like, but sometimes there are consequences Melanie. It's not Spocko's letters that are making the advertisers flee your station, it's your disgusting and vile wingnuttery.
2. Another person compares Bush to Hitler. A left-wing extremist? No, it is a former Reagan aide. Now seeing as how Hitler comparisons are okay to make if you are Republican. This should be okay with the Right-wingers. (By the way, let me say this again; comparing Bush to Hitler is not saying that he is just like Hitler or as bad as Hitler. It is simply to prove a point by depicting similarities whether or not they are of similar intensity or depth.)

Former Reagan Aide Compares Bush To Hitler
"Like Hitler, he protects himself from reality with delusion," Roberts continues. "In his last hours, Hitler was ordering non-existent German armies to drive the Russians from Berlin."
